Welcome to Sea Island Women's Center! My name is Jill Striebinger and I am the host for our journey to peace and friendship. The center is open by appointment. It is a place to meet people in similar circumstances and to have chance to have individual support.
About Your Host at Sea Island Women's Center
My Qualifications
As an ordained priest with The Association of Roman Catholic Women Priests, ARCWP, I have completed preparation through Peoples Catholic Seminar and have a master's degree in Pastoral Ministry from Global Ministries. My healing work comes from learning to sit with all parts of myself in meditative prayer. I learned several techniques for healing work through different Reiki schools, as well as other energy healing programs and trainings. I am also a commissioned member of the Federation of Christian Ministries.
As a mom, I raised a son with Autism and have helped other moms get though their challenges as an independent parent advocate volunteer for the service coordination program through Beaufort County Human Services. I have received trainings from SC Federation of Families and Partners in Policy Making through the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. I served in the United States Airforce and have other education and experience in the field of computers and process reengineering.
My Approach
I listen for however long it takes for someone to feel heard.
What I discovered is that healing work comes down to being open to letting God work through you. There is no one right nor adequate way to define divine power. Each person's journey is their own to take. We are all sisters and brothers along the way. Anyone is welcome regardless of your belief system. There are many names for God and how we perceive the divine force in our lives. Since I am a cradle Catholic, my lived experience is in the context of how that system of religion defined my life's experiences, good, bad, or indifferent. If you are struggling with processing your experience growing up in a Christian paradigm, we can have that talk.
If you are a parent of a special needs child and need to skip past explaining to someone what that means in your life and how you struggle and find joy. I can walk that talk with you as well. If you are a veteran yourself or spouse of a service member, I've worn those hats as well. I'm here for you.

Food for Thought
We are looking forward to sharing food together in celebration of the gift of life in this world. Other things to imagine is co-developing our own evolving customs around being together in community.
